Then the NFA will digitise the results and display them on a website. Finally, a DVD will be produced, and copies will be available in Hull's Local Studies Library and all 13 Hull branch libraries.
The oral history is being produced by the NFA and Hull City Council with the support of Hull Local Studies Library and the Showman's Guild of Great Britain, Yorkshire Section.
As well a collecting oral testimonies the project will encourage people to come forward with other material such as photographs, paintings, sketches, tram tickets, tokens, programmes, posters and other objects which relate to their experience of Hull Fair. With the permission of the owner these objects will be recorded digitally and the resulting images displayed on the website. Archival material from Hull Local Studies Library will also be digitised.
The project was completed in October 2005 and no longer runs workshops. This page has been retained as a record of the project's activities.
